Purpose/Overview

SHY is safe place for high schoolers to come hang out with one another and pursue a deeper knowledge of the Christian faith. We get together once a week to play some games and also have some sweet discussion about God and what He may be doing in out lives. It's a good time for all, a time to talk about tough questions and share struggles. We also do a variety of events year round, like summer mission trips, winter retreats, barbecues and more! Check us out if you're in high school!

The Outreach Team

Purpose/Overview

The Outreach Team welcomes guests and church members to the portion of God's mission field called Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. We do this through:

  • Greeters at Sunday morning worship services who are the "welcome mat" at the church's front door.
  • Advertising our presence in the community through newspapers, our website, and annually at the City of Vacaville's "Merriment on Main" celebration
  • Leading events such as Community Yard Sales to draw people to our church, where we "meet and greet" to begin friendships, to offer more opportunities to know Jesus Christ through us.

Stewardship Team

Purpose/Overview

The goal of the Stewardship Team is to guide the congregation through a year long process of learning what is involved in becoming a steward of all the gifts and blessings that God has bestowed on each one of us. This process involves identifying one's spiritual gifts, deciding how those gifts may be used in both the Shepherd of the Hills community and in the larger Vacaville community and returning to God an appropriate amount of our time, our talents, and our treasure.
